Nails & Nail Care

Friday's are a beautiful day; you're ready for the weekend and it's basically here, but it's even better in university because I was only there for 3 hours (however it was a brilliant 3 hours!). This meant that I was able to go and get my acrylic nails refilled before I go out tonight. I made my way down to Jenny's Nails on the Benfleet High Street, and if you live here and want your nails done, definitely go there! I don't have acrylics all the time, but I wanted to keep mine for a little longer. Rather than having a plain manicure, I went for a bolder look and got OPI's "Thrill Of Brazil" Colour.

My actual nails are extremely weak, so they break easily and don't grown long at all. When I don't have acrylics on, I use certain products to make my real nails stronger. My recommendation for anyone who has the same problem as me is to use products by Sally Hansen! Many of the Sally Hansen products are aimed at nail care and maintenance. I use or have used "Advanced Hard As Nails" & "Maximum Strength", which can both be used as base coats before you apply colour to your nails. They are highly effective, especially if you keep your nails bare and apply a coat or two everyday. This way your nails only have the strengthening polishes on, which can then work their magic. Sally Hansen also has cuticle care & growth products too, so be sure to check out the website or try your nearest Boots, Superdrug or Supermarket too (I know Tescos have them).

When it comes to nail colours, I don't have many OPI colours, but I do have a lot of Barry M nail paints and Elegant Touch products. You'll soon come to learn that I'm a huge fan of Barry M; not only do I have nail paints, but I've got eye dust, lipstick, mascara, eyeliner and so much more. You name it, I've got it. I have a range of nail paint colours and effects, but there are certain ones that I love more than others like these below.

Gelly Nail Effects: Blue Grape (gnp17)

Matte Nail Paint: Cancun (mnp10)
Matte Nail Paint: Black Expresso (mnp1)
Nail Paint: Cappuccino (np341)
Nail Paint: Raspberry (np273)

These are just a few of my favourites and some of the ones I have! The latest collection of Autumn colours add to the mood of the season, so those are definitely ones to buy if you want to fit in with the colour scheme this season. But if you feel like you want fake nails that you can glue and go, then be sure to purchase any pack of Elegant Touch nails! They've got collections by House of Holland, Little Mix, Lily Allen and other exclusives. Every single pack of House Of Holland x Elegant Touch nails are outrageous and I love them. They are bright, bold and completely out there. If you love nail art, but aren't any good at it, go get these nails! They are perfect for people who love quirky designs. My favourites from Elegant Touch have to be the Metallic Silver Press Ons! They are "totally tumblr" and long lasting. I haven't seen them on the website, but I think that you should be able to purchase them in-stores (again, I got mine from Tescos).

Elegant Touch x House Of Holland: Ghetto Gold

I know I've rambled on about nails and nail products, but I love nails and I hope to do more posts on them! Maybe next time inspirational nail art or a "how to", if I practice enough!

Love,

Emily xx

  2. Nail stepping units are only one approach to get special and salon-looking structures rapidly and effectively. Presently one preferred position of heading off to a salon to have an expert either freehand or by utilizing a stencil and artificially glamorize, apply one of a kind nail plans to your nails is that the specialist can utilize two hands to take a shot at your hands. nailwraps (Nagelfolien in Germany)
