The 10 Fashion Shows From Paris Fashion Week I Can't Stop Talking About

Off all the fashion weeks, Paris has to be one of the most intense, busiest and fashion packed of them all. Every season, there are shows running over a week and honestly, if I was attending, I'd be flat out by day 4. I hope one day I actually get to experience that honestly. It was the final week, and was it show stopping! I mean, someone literally crashed the Chanel finale. Talk about a bold move.

With so many shows to look at and cover, this post would have been a million years long. I tried to go off the day-by-day style and the trends that I did with my previous fashion week posts, but it wouldn't work for this. There was just far too much. So I had to limit myself. After scrolling through hundreds of runway images on Vogue, I settled on choosing the 10 SS20 collections from PFW that stood out to me to share with you.

So here we go!

Chanel
The iconic French fashion house brought back their iconic tweed once again in styles that not only do I want for SS20, but for this season, like right now. Inspired by Paris and Parisian rooftops, this collection was the ultimate French girl chic. I'm taking heavy inspiration from this collection to my current wardrobe. Absolutely loved it - as I do with every Chanel collection.

Christian Dior
Maison Dior was full of floral embroideries and floaty fabrics running through lines of trees - A Spring Summer dream. It is just the ideal collection for next season. It reminds me of the French countryside, running away to the fresh flower fields with books and sweet guitar music. J'adore, or should I say J'aDior.

Saint Laurent
Has to be one of my favourite collections. It was so my style - a mix of boyish sass, floaty feminine and sparkling sexy. The minute I saw the first images I knew Saint Laurent was going to be one of my favourite shows across the season. If I could take an SS20 collection and instantly transport it into my wardrobe, this would be the one. That's how good it was.

Mugler
This show was a surprising one to love, but I'm glad I saw it. Maybe it's the influence of Kim Kardashian in custom Mugler pieces lately - I've seriously loved them on her, and now it's a brand I'm keeping an eye on. This collection was chic and unapologetic. It was cinched silhouettes with draped details. Loved it. My favourite piece has to be the sky blue mini dress - ugh I want it.

Off-White
When I think of Off-White, I always think of the printed tees and sweatshirts (I blame my brother for that one), but Virgil Abloh is so much more than that. These pieces were simple yet statement and I think that was the appeal for me. The SS20 collection is perfect for the street-style ready woman.

Balmain
Go bold or go home - Olivier Rousteing never ever disappoints on the bold front. He is a visionary and I am here for it. There was so much to look at from this collection, I was honestly overwhelmed. A collection with a spectrum of floaty fabrics to tailoring, there was something for everyone. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be that dropped shoulder oversized blazer look - I mean it's so good.

Givenchy
What I loved about Givenchy's SS20 collection is it's versatility. These are pieces you could invest in and wear time and again without getting bored. From neutrals to bold pops of colour, there was something (again) for everyone. I love the double denim shorts with high-low hem top for an easy Spring Summer look that you can wear anytime. I think I'll recreate that one when the time comes.

Alexander McQueen
A monochromatic, lace detailed extravaganza, Alexander McQueen eased up on the overly edgy gothic vibe for SS20 and I love it. Not that I don't love their statement style, but this I loved more. There was Victorian Romance literally laced into pieces that gave it an English country side dream vibe. Overall such a beautiful collection.

Valentino
Truly glamorous and stunningly feminine, Valentino's SS20 collection was dreamy. Oh to be dressed in Valentino - I only wish one day I could be. The floaty fabrics, the detailed embroideries and prints and sleeves to die for, there's not a single piece from Valentino's collection I wouldn't wear.

Louis Vuitton
One of the final shows of PFW, Louis Vuitton is one of the most anticipated collections and Nicolas Ghesquière truly delivered. Full of colours and patterns, this SS20 collection was bold and fun. I think I prefer more than some of their previous collections. I especially love the double breasted purple dress and the black and white mini dress. Those are two pieces I would love in my wardrobe for any time of year.

Ten shows from nine days of fashion. It was a task. I mean there were so many shows that I loved that I didn't include because honestly this post would've gone on forever. The likes of Chloe, Stella McCartney, Hermès, Lanvin and many more aren't included here but I did love looks from those collections too. If you want to check out more of PFW, head to Vogue Runways - it's my go-to for the latest runways and collection showcasing.

And just like that, Fashion Month is over. Wow. I can't imagine how exhausted the Fashion World is right now. I'm exhausted just from writing these posts. However I truly enjoy writing them and I hope you like reading them.

Until next fashion month... February (which just happens to be my birthday month too!).

Lots of Love,

Emily xx
