Finding Confidence - A Little Personal Advice

Confidence is one of those things that you either have or you don't. There's not beating around it. Sometimes you're born with it, sometimes you learn to have it. I'm one of those who had confidence and lost it. Oh yes, hello insecurities.

I've had plenty of occasions, like all of us do, where I change outfits multiple times, or my lipstick, or my hairstyle just to feel presentable enough. I've had times where I have cried in front of my parents and little brother, who then tell me off because really I look beautiful and there's nothing to be upset about.

I wake up in the morning and start to feel good about me, but something kicks in that says "no, not really". I put myself down a lot, which is terrible when I'm all for positive energy and vibes. I'm starting to learn how to battle those negative thoughts within and I thought I'd share that with you.

Side note: I wasn't even happy with the photos in this post, I wasn't confident with them but it gave me the idea to write this post and also embrace them. Who cares if they aren't perfect?

It's a process, it's not going to happen overnight. You'll still hear those little voices telling you all the things you don't want but there are ways to overcome that.
Put on your favourite outfit or statement wardrobe piece that you know you slay in, regardless what anyone thinks. Listen to your favourite music and dance around while you get ready in the morning. Look at yourself in the mirror, find the things you love about yourself and focus on that. Tell yourself you're beautiful, then head out of that door and own it. Walk around like you haven't got a care in the world and the confidence will just ooze out of you. If someone gives you a compliment, make sure you take it and say thank you. Never negate it. These sound like the simplest of things, but sometimes they can actually be dead hard.

There could be so many other ways to find confidence and if you have any tips, definitely share them with me! I'd love to hear how you gained or are gaining a new found confidence.

Also I'm planning a lot more blog posts and even a YouTube channel so if there's anything you want to see, get in touch!

Lots of love,

Emz xx
