SS18 Trends That I'm Loving

Top: Topshop/ Shorts: Primark (old, DIY raw hem) / Bag: Faith at Debenhams / Bracelet: Swarovski / Sandals: Next

Spring Summer is upon us, though the British and Americans may not be entirely feeling it thanks to the "Beast From The East". Whilst I soak up the sun in Sri Lanka, I'm trying to figure out a way to bring it back to London - so far, I've gotten no ideas but what I am diving into to keep the Spring Summer mood alive are the latest trends. Now I know the picture above is not the best image to accompany this post as it doesn't really incorporate some of the trends I talk about below, but I wanted any random photo so I could finally get this post up.

So enough of me yapping on, here's the top three trends that I am absolutely loving for SS18.

LOGOMANIA

I guess everything from the past does make a comeback, because the Logomania trend keeps on growing with most obviously branded items being the most lusted-after. But for Spring Summer 2018, I've seen a few brands change up those signature style to give Logomania a new refreshing edge and refrain from making it boring. Take Diesel's new "DEISEL" limited collection - they took their own brand and basically made it a joke, how original and interesting. If you haven't seen the campaign video, it's hilarious and a must-watch.

Here are some of my current picks:

2. Tommy Logo T-shirt - An absolute steal for a designer tee!

PASTELS

Lilac purple is the colour of the season. I have seen so many fashionistas draping themselves in the colour and I am in love. I don't even know if the colour will suit me but I am ready to try it. So far my favourite examples of the colour trend have to be Aimee Song (version 1 & 2 are both gems) & Camila Coehlo. Ironic that the two best friends just owned it. It's not just the shades of purple, but also the pastel pinks and blues that are super feminine and gorgeous. I'm obsessed. But there's hardly any of it in stores yet, especially the new classic lilac purple but I can guarantee that it's colour that will slowly be creeping into high street brands soon enough. Until then, I've found a few pieces to fill the pastel void.

8. Topshop Hazzard ankle boots (Balenciaga dupes, also in powder blue)
9. Topshop Blossom ankle boots - Love the edgy ring detail to the back of the ankle

ORIENTAL

Now this may have been more popular for AW17 or even SS17, but I still think it's a hot trend for SS18. Spring is always a good time for florals - Queue Miranda Preistly; "Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking." But I honestly the style is underrated and is simply unique. Add a pop of bold colours to outfits will just bring them to life, especially if you're going with a monotone palette for the day. The bold red Oriental flowers bag I have is from Faith at Debenhams that I brought last Summer and I wish I bought the identical blue one too because I just love the style. Those aren't in stock anymore, sigh, but some brands have got a few bags and shoes similar that will just bring new life to your wardrobe. Even Ted Baker have just brought out a few pieces that are Orientally influenced and are just gorgeous! Check below to see what I mean:

1. Aldo Stessyf pumps (Various colours)
2. Aldo Tortorici shoulder bag (Also comes in a light green)
4. MANGO flowered heel sandals - Love these, so unique
6. Ted Baker Chinoiserie jaquard bomber jacket - Check out the Chinoiserie range and the Soft Blossom range for oriental beauties!

** TIP: Pair the boldness of the Oriental flowers with a pastel dress for a unique edge**

So those are the few trends that I'm absolutely loving right now for the season that I can't wait to incorporate into my wardrobe more. And there's bound to be more trends that I'll find and love. Let me know what trends are calling your name right now in the comments below!

Lots of love,

Emily xx
