MY 5 HOLY GRAIL MAKE UP PRODUCTS

When it comes to make up, I like to keep it as simple as possible. If my skin is clear and healthy, I'll avoid make up as much as possible just because I'd like to keep my pores from being clogged. Over the past few months, my skin had a touch time with breakouts, dark pigmentation and an overall dull feel. It was the most annoying time because I was blessed with good skin that is usually clear, hydrated and soft. As it now is almost back to being completely clear, I'm avoiding unnecessarily caking and baking my face, but instead focusing on the make up products that just add to my natural glow. I thought I would share with you my 5 holy grail products that I use everyday without fail.

CONCEALER

Concealer is a holy grail for all of us. It's that little pick me up that can brighten under-eyes, cover up any little blemishes and just give your face a little bit of colour. This particular product has been my saving grace during my breakout times and I've gone through more of it during that time than ever. My number one is NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in "Caramel", it complements my skin perfectly, but I've linked two others that I've also used that aid me perfectly too.

MASCARA

I always feel like the eyes need a little something and since I'm not wearing heavy eyeliner much these days and eyeshadow I only really add when I'm dressing up, mascara gives me the subtle lift that I need to brighten my eyes. I go for volume over length because I think my natural length is more than enough for everyday. At the moment I'm using the NARS Climax mascara (I didn't want to give into the hype, but I did. I don't regret it) and the Maybelline Colossal mascara. Anything that gives me good volume is a winner for me.

SETTING POWDER

Even though I'm not necessarily using a lot of make up to be set, I love a good setting powder. My skin can be prone to oiliness, especially when it's hot out. A little bit of setting powder to keep the bit of concealer on my skin is good. I apply under my eyes, around my nose, my chin and forehead - the places where oil or sweat is prone to. The Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder is the best for me right now, honestly it's light enough for everyday use and strong enough for those days when you want to bake to your hearts content. I also love to have a compact setting powder, like the Fenty Beauty one, so that I have it in my bag with me when I need a touch up.

HIGHLIGHTER

Everyone wants to glow like the sun these days and I love that. On an everyday basis, you don't really need to go overboard (well, at least I don't), but a little extra product to emphasise those natural light spots is never a bad thing. I have been using the Sleek Highlighter Palette "Cleopatra's Kiss" for ages now, I've raved about it to everyone purely because the glow is instant, effortless and is super cheap (£10, literally). It's an easy drugstore buy that comes with for shades, two powder and two cream, depending on your mood. I'm debating moving to a liquid highlighter soon, so I've listed my next potentials.

LIPSTICK

I love a good nude lipstick. I only ever really wear the same ones purely because they suit me best and aren't over powering. A swipe of nude lipstick can instantly put me together. I like to go for light pinks and browns that complement my skin tone and natural lip colour. The NYX Soft Matte Liquid Lipsticks are my go-to, with "London" and "Abu Dhabi" being my signature shades. That with a slighter darker nude lip liner is the perfect combo.

These five products will always be in my make up bag, without a doubt. Can't leave the house without at least 2 of these products on. What are the five make up products you can't go without? Also, if these are one of your five, what products do you use? I'm always up for trying new ones and I'd love to hear what you use.

Ps. Excuse the blurry photography. I don't have a tripod at the moment. My camera was balanced on various bottles in the bathroom and I'm using a remote control. Ah the joys of self portrait photography.

Lots of Love,

Emily xx
