Vintage designer bags are having their moment right now. Whether it's digging them out of your mum or grandma's closet, or even your own, or purchasing secondhand, older versions of iconic bags are making their wave in the fashion world. Investing in a vintage bag is a big decision and I thought I'd make it a little easier. I've chosen the 5 iconic designers and a classic bag of theirs that won't just be perfect for 2020, but for life. Read why I've chosen these bags below and click the images to shop now!

All bags sourced from Vestiaire Collective, The Vintage Bar & WhatGoesAroundNYC.

"It's not a bag, it's a Baguette" - Carrie Bradshaw

One of the iconic bags that was made its mark most notably through Sex & The City, the Fendi Baguette has definitely made it's comeback. With the Italian fashion house revamping the style, the original styling cannot be ignored! A vintage version of this bag in your wardrobe will have you feeling very Carrie.

The Dior Saddle Bag

The Saddle bag is everywhere and honestly, I understand why now. It's a simple, classic style that looks utterly chic. Whilst the newer styles have their sleek leather looks or reworked embroidered logo design, the vintage styles are so cool that they are worth investing in. If you're going for a Vintage Dior Saddle, go for one with a unique design or embroidered details to have something truly special.

The Louis Vuitton Pouchette

Maybe not what you thought I'd pick for Louis Vuitton, but this style has always been one of my favourites. I love the Pouchette, it's super cute and small and very 90's, especially in bold colourways. I personally love the style from Vestiaire Collective with the chain strap, it's perfect for 2020.

The Gucci Hobo bag has been reworked in various ways and it's still a classic. I absolutely love this one and my Mum has three in different stylings (which will be mine one day... yessss), and honestly they each have qualities that make them amazing. Also if you buy a bigger size, you will fit absolutely everything in them. No lie, they are Mary Poppins worthy.

The Chanel Classic

The Chanel Classic is the perfect bag to invest in first if you've not bought a designer bag before. Of course, buying a brand spanking new one is ideal because it's only ever been yours that way and they are rather pricey. But there are some stunning vintage options that you can't say no to. I mean the two above aren't anything compared to what's available online but if I spent any more time looking, I'd never write this post.

What bag would you chose? I personally might go for a Fendi baguette, maybe because I want to channel some Carrie energy. What other iconic styles would you invest in? Let me know in the comments below.

Lots of Love,

Emily xx
