Back To Basics: The Wardrobe Basics You Need To Start The Year

 I was debating what to write about this week and for the life of me, I couldn't come up with something until I was browsing online on Zara & H&M making orders for myself. We're in the middle of the first month of the year and it's definitely a good time to set the tone for your wardrobe. I always love to start with basics and I know I've spoken about this topic before, but you can never go wrong. You simply can never have enough. With the world still uncertain and the prospect of working from home still very much expected, basics are a good way to make yourself put together yet comfortable at home. I'm not saying ditch the sweats yet, but for those days you feel you need to up your productivity levels, putting on a comfy pair of jeans and a tee will definitely put your body and mind in the right frame. I've decided to steer you to some of the picks in my baskets right now that are versatile and classic. 

Tees - My Tip: Size up on tees for more comfort and ease of style. 

   

Knits - You can never have too many knits, go for the classics or go for the extraordinary. Whatever you do, have a collection of them especially in the winter months. 

   

Denim - I'm in a tropical climate (that's having it's cold days though...) so I am still wearing my staple denim shorts but having a pair of classic skinnies, regular or cropped, is the perfect staple to renew in your wardrobe. Go for the signature blue.

THE LATEST H&M PIECES THAT ARE SO ZIMMERMANN

Zimmermann is one of my favourite brands and has been for ages. It's one of those brands that makes you feel like summer can be at any time. Over the past few years, the Australian label has taken a front seat in the fashion world and all us ladies are after a piece from it. 

Since it is designer, the price tags are a bit higher than what you're after for every day wear - unless you live in a warmer country and are an investor who knows about cost-per-wear. Obviously, we'd all love to indulge in designer if we could but that's not always the case. 

Lucky for us though, because high street brands are making Zimmermann-esque pieces that are just as gorgeous. I thought I'd gather together the best of them and put them into a wishlist for you. 

The brand that is totally doing it is H&M! Honestly, these are some of the best Zimmermann style pieces out there right now. Some of these pieces are even from their Conscious line and are at amazing prices. Click the images and see for yourself. I literally think I may just buy all these. 

   

   

    

Seriously, how gorgeous are these? They quite literally scream Zimmermann but are accessible from the comfort of H&M, which is a brand we all love. H&M are really on it right now; their pieces are great, affordable, they've even just pre-launched their designer collaboration with Giambattista Valli (which is to die for). I have so many things on my wishlist from H&M and if you haven't checked them out their latest, then I suggest you do.
