A WFH Outfit & A Little Life Update

Outfit: Top (old) - similar here / Trousers - Mango (similar here & here) / Earrings - Cataleyha LK

It’s been a little while since I last posted on here and it’s been eating me up in the back of my mind. But I have good reason for not posting on the blog; every since I started my Master’s degree, I’ve been swamped.

I’m already at the end of Week Four, about to start Week 5… I’m almost half way through a term. The time has flown. In between watching pre-recorded lectures, attending Zoom Q&As and Webinars, my time has been filled with endless reading. I mean pages upon pages and because I’m trying to be a good student, I’ve been reading every single bit of it (and then re-reading points that are too dense). But I’ve been enjoying every minute of it, more so than I thought. So I cannot complain. Nor can I put myself down for being the worst “blogger” in the world.

I’ve also been trying to brainstorm what to write about or share on here. I would love to know your thoughts because I’m currently having a creative block, which is the worst thing for me. I cannot handle when I can’t come up with creative ideas. Let me know what you’d like to see in the comments below!

On to the part you might be more interested to know; my outfit. I got these trousers from Mango about a month or so ago and I have been dying to wear them since. But since I haven’t really left the house lately, I thought it’s about time I put them on for a WFH/UFH (uni from home) look. I’ve paired them with this old oversized tee, which is super comfy and a super cute pair of earrings from a Sri Lankan brand I found on Instagram. I’ve actually bought a few jewellery pieces via Instagram from Sri Lankan based brands. I might just share those with you soon (I’ve got my eye on a few more pieces, so I’ll grab those first and then make a comprehensive post!).

Ooh, would you like to see “What I Wore This Week” types of posts? Or are they a bit of a bore? Also, if I’m only wearing leggings half the time that might be boring. Just let me know your thoughts. The more help I can get, the better.

Until next time, which should hopefully be next week.

Sending you lots of love and hoping you’re staying safe!

What I Wore (& Another White Shirt Dress Edit)

Outfit: Dress - Zara (old) / Shoes - Mango (old)

*Disclaimer: Affiliate links are used, it doesn't cost you any extra!*

If there's one thing you'll learn about me is that I'm a creature of habit, especially when it comes to fashion. I'll find a style or piece that I'll love so much, I'll wear it to death. Literally. If you haven't seen this dress before, then congratulations you are part of a very elite group because I wear this Zara drop hem shirt dress like my life depends on it. I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy a back up when I originally bought it about two years ago. And it is still standing on its two legs perfectly. It's withstood washes and spills (yes, I'm clumsy I'll admit it). So I wore for the millionth time yesterday and here's what I love about a white shirt dress - it's so damn easy.

You can chuck it on in any season for the perfect outfit. Spring Summer months allow you to simply just wear it with sandals, as a beach cover up, or even dressed up for dinner. For Autumn Winter, you can easily wear a pair of tights and boots underneath and layer knitwear and coats on top. The versatility of white dress is endless and with the newer silhouettes and attributes that designers are bringing to the table, shirt dresses don't simply have to be a shirt but longer. (Any think of Chandler and his advertising there? "Pants, like shorts but longer".)

Anyway, back on topic. I just love white shirts and right now as we transition through seasons, it's the perfect piece. I absolutely love the idea of going for smock shirt dress with a pair of jeans for a look, finished off with strappy sandals and a statement bag. Or even worn open over the top of a pair of denim cut off shorts and a bodysuit for those warmer days.

I've rummaged through a few online stores to find the perfect styles of white shirt dresses for you to peruse and maybe add to your wardrobe this Autumn. Click the images to shop now!

The Zara Dupe Of The Infamous Khaite Knit Co-Ord Has Dropped Again

After Katie Holmes stepped out in that Khaite knit co-ord back in November, everyone wanted it and it set the bar for knit bralettes and cardigan co-ords to make a statement. Nearly a year on and I'm still thinking about that set.

Since then, Khaite has made a name for itself as brand and has risen in the influencer world with more and more buying pieces from it. And their knit pieces are most definitely the hit of the collection.

As we transition from Summer to Fall, that knit co-ord is going to be a hit. But at the price point of over £1000, it may not be worth it for some.

Cue Zara.

Zara already did a dupe of the Khaite co-ord when it blew up the fashion world and it's returned again in their latest collection, with matching shorts. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to share it with the world because this co-ord is one of those unique pieces that is a staple. It's perfect for any time of year, whether it's casual wear on a day out or lounging around at home. The pieces can be layered or worn separately and I think they are perfectly timeless.

So whether you're thinking about the Khaite set or the Zara dupe, you can shop them both now as the perfect transition season pieces.

Switch Out Your Sweatpants For These 26 Pretty Summer Dresses

Dress - Cotton Collection (similar linked below) / Earrings - old

We've been living in sweats and leggings on the regular for a good few months now. Well at least I know I have and I'm not alone. And it's got to the point where I'm actually genuinely sick of wearing sweatpants and tank tops. Yep, I never thought I'd see the day either.

As we've moved into Summer now and I'm dreaming of a holiday in the Mediterranean, I thought it's about time to switch up my look to reflect the feeling. The weather is getting warmer across the board, plus circumstances of lockdown are starting to ease up and so we are starting to make changes. It's about time our wardrobes get that change too.

I've put together all my favourite summer dresses that are not only perfect for days out in the sun but also for being extra whilst lounging around. Click the images to shop now!
